Switzerland: Autumn...

I decided to do this blog after I took these. The colours here are really beautiful and this is a stream about 100m from where we live. It is a place we take for granted since we see it so often, and we really shouldnt! We have played in the water in the first picture once or twice but it was still pretty cold, since most of the water in the streams in Switzerland comes off the mountains and is probably ultimately from a melting glacier somewhere... the water is really clean and clear and there are regular walkers and runners along the sides of this stream. Even the odd horse rider...

This Turlesee again... still not happy with the other picture so I am trying again...

We are off to Ireland on Wednesday and I am hopeful that there will be some pretty places and nice things to photograph.... I am bored of my subject matter and am going to try some different things there!
I have also tried to re-size my pictures. It seems to be alot of effort and I am not sure if I am doing it right but I got tired of seeing 'thumbnails' of them and they never really seemed to turn out right. Getting there but for a first try at HTML it seems to be ok!

Switzerland: Ticino... Valle Maggia

These pictures are from the beginning of the year. Ticino, and in particular Valle Maggia has a special place in our hearts. It was a place where we realised the value of preserving history and how a country was so committed to preserving their history. It dates back to the early 1800's and was left deserted (if I remember correctly) around the great depression.

There are now around 20% of the original number of residents living there with most owners leaving their homes as holiday homes rather than permanent residences.

Switzerland: Türlersee

Turlesee... quite well into Autumn, it was very cold, it had a large caravan park on the right. I like this but find it a little emotionless.
